BACK IN PRISON
On Thursday 18th March the Bread Not Bombs Plowshares three-Annika Spalde, Ann-Britt Sternfeldt and Stellan Vinthagen-broke their imposed bail conditions by deliberately failing to report to a Liverpool police station.

Instead, three days later, on Sunday March 21st, along with twenty other anti-Trident activists, they went back to the Barrow shipyard to ask the workers and security to help continue the disarmament of the Trident nuclear weapons programme.

The three were arrested and appeared in Barrow magistrates' court the following morning. They were remanded in custody until Monday 29th March. Ann-Britt and Annika are back in Risley prison; Stellan is back in Preston.

TUESDAY MAY 4th
The trial date for their attempted disarmament action is Tuesday May 4th. Lawyers estimate that the trial will last 5-10 days. Supporters are mobilising a good attendance inside and outside the court, including a "Hope & Resistance Gathering" of workshops and entertainments and a trip back to Barrow.

BACKGROUND
For those who've just joined us: On Sunday September 13th, 1998, the three entered the Barrow shipyard in the north of England with household hammers in order to begin the disarmament of HMS Vengeance-Britain's fourth Trident submarine. They did not reach the submarine, but were able to begin dismantling military equipment. They were arrested, charged with "conspiracy to commit criminal damage" to the submarine, and remanded in custody. On 21st January they were unexpectedly released on bail.

And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares.......
